Pros

- Market leading products with strong customer loyalty - Areas of global leadership that are strategic thinkers.

Cons

- Driving high performers out of business based on global restructure that continues to not address APAC market conditions. - Customer experience quickly being eroded for profit. - International sales leadership focused on "internal messaging" versus enabling urgent blocks to be removed locally in APAC. - Sales structure seeing over commitment to areas and less support for critical areas of growth. - Global people leadership more focused on external market messaging to address consistent resignations across the globe - including verbose and misleading responses on this platform - then enabling people to thrive and succeed. - Moving to a model that is removing ability to earn (lesser paid people with smaller earning potential). - Sales leadership in Australia lacks knowledge of governance required to effectively position business long term. - Local HR focused on big picture processes and lacks capability to drive culture locally. - Embarrassing off boarding processes that speak to not addressing issues repeated on multiple departures.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your comments on the strength of our products, longstanding relationships with our valued clients, and market leadership. We did recently undertake a strategic transformation of our business, in order to drive even greater impact for our clients. The steps we have taken and continue to take were based directly on a thoughtful analysis of our global business, as well as direct feedback from our customers and internal teams on how we could make it easier to do business both within and outside of Diligent. We don’t take lightly the impacts of those changes to certain teams, but it’s important to note that through our transformation, we also ramped up teams in many parts of the world, focused on improving many of our internal processes, and implemented additional resources to support individuals and teams in-region based on ongoing feedback. As for your other comments, we are really sorry to hear about your experience and how things changed for you at Diligent. We want every team member at Diligent to feel like they have a runway for growth with us, are appreciated and rewarded for their hard work and contributions to our success, and are enjoying our fast-paced, collaborative, and client-focused culture. We take your feedback onboard and wish that there is more we could have done for you during your time with us. Regardless, we thank you again for these comments, and best of luck on your next step. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

The product is market-leading, and the space is genuinely interesting. There's no shortage of smart, capable people at Diligent. A lot of talented managers exist within the org who could do more if given the room.

Cons

Direction changes constantly — sometimes it feels quarter over quarter. The result is widespread burnout and an inability to execute. Senior leaders rarely push back on the CEO, which means teams absorb every strategic shift without warning or context. HR leadership prioritizes serving the executive team over the broader employee population. The HR team is stretched thin and operates more like a compliance function than a culture or development partner. (Turnover within HR leadership has been notable.) Pay is below market. The equity program is opaque, poorly managed, and functions more as a retention mechanism than a genuine benefit (with no clear path to liquidity). There's a meaningful gap between what the company says it stands for—especially around employee experience—and what it actually delivers internally.

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback about your experience. We truly appreciate you recognizing the strengths of our product and the talent across our team, and we’re glad to hear the space feels interesting and compelling. We also recognize that as a company focused on governance, risk and compliance, that it’s critical to hold ourselves to the same high standards internally. Through our monthly pulse surveys, we listen to our team, learn and actively work to strengthen any areas of feedback from alignment to transparency, or accountability across our leadership teams. In fact, one of our OKRs is focused solely on ensuring we have an empowered and accountable team, which we rally around as an organization. We appreciate other sources of feedback like yours, as it is an important part of that effort. Our People team is committed to supporting an elevated employee experience and continuously improving how we listen, respond, and evolve. While we won’t always get everything right on the first try, we are highly focused on continuing to iterate and making meaningful progress to ensure our actions reflect our values. We encourage continued feedback and appreciate you sharing your perspective. If you’d like to provide any additional context, please feel free to reach out at: HRConfidential@diligent.com
