Pros

The people who work at Disc Makers are musicians or have a strong interest in music. This creates a social workplace that is mostly fun and energetic. Many appear to care about their job and the success of the business.

Cons

CD sales have had a big impact on the business. Several large layoffs over the last few years have had a heavy impact on moral. Management does not appear to recognize this and is not doing anything about it.

Disc Makers Response

Thanks for the feedback. In the 5 years since the start of the 2008 recession we were faced with the same economic crisis that most other companies were, and we -- like many companies -- went through several very difficult staff reductions. However, those days are behind us. We are very well aware of the morale impact that a layoff creates, and work very hard to not have to do this. Our first responsibility as a management team is to the people who work at Disc Makers, and we strive to provide stimulating employment opportunities for everyone here for the long run. And sometimes, in the short term, that may mean that difficult decisions need to be made. Fortunately, lots of artists, filmmakers, and companies still need and use discs, and we are one of the largest, and the most stable provider in the industry. We intend to keep it that way. Pros

It was good pay. They were flexible about time off, sickness, etc. to a point.

Cons

They became "corporate" and the atmosphere is cold now. Nobody sees each other because we are all WFH, which is good and bad. Sales team promises things they can't deliver, Artists are expected to churn out things quickly. Printing is okay. it just feels like you are killing your soul.
