Pros
-Good people, truly. -Good vacation time. -401k match, & decent benefits.
Cons
- Extremely low morale due to high volume of layoffs among many other issues. No motivation, feels as though no one in the office cares. Break down of communication at seemingly all levels. -No clear leader or presence of one. -Almost no 'perks'. Don't expect much more than barely palatable coffee in the kitchen. -Very low pay to lower positions, among lowest in the industry. No room for negotiation. - Speaking from a Sales Assistant/Sales Planner perspective – everyone is at the very least looking for another job, it’s no secret. This can even be said for many of the senior positions. People actively speak openly about other opportunities in the office, with many leaving at lunch for interviews day in and out. -Discovery has failed to foster a sense of pride, growth or motivation. Our CEO recently addressed ad sales and mentioned us atop the best companies and people in the industry - citing, NBC, CBS, FOX. If this is so, why don’t we as employees feel like we are? This all comes down to the employee experience – how we feel about the degree to which Discovery cares about us, our development and everything in between. DSC is failing on all of these levels. -Completely out of touch CEO. Boasts about 'hanging' with Roger Goodell just days after a multitude of layoffs. DSC board announces his vast compensation package and extension thru 2023 (including a 22MM dollar yearly bonus) a DAY after layoffs.
