Pros
Flexible hours, co-workers were great and I'm still friends with many of them today (7 years later), sign ins were a nice perk as well as discounts for using your employee ID. Break rooms and lead office are well kept. Cast members can throw excellent parties. As a ride operator, it was nice to continually rotate throughout your shift. You get to see/meet a lot of celebrities; my favorites were Kobe Bryant, Whoopi Goldberg and Pierce Brosnon (who ran and jumped onto my Jolly Trolly while it was in the middle of the ride). In all, a great place to work and I'd go back.
Cons
Cross-training on rides is uncommon as is advancement. They "land locked" the rides years ago so if you're in an area of the park with a lot of kiddie rides (i.e. Fantasyland), your opportunity to work a "cool" ride is limited. While 99% of the guests are awesome, the 1% are a real pain. During my tenure, I was punched once, spit on twice, and accused of "ruining" a family's vacation by asking a guy to simply hold a card and turn it in once he got on the ride in an effort to gauge the wait time. The merge position is arguably the most difficult job in the park as you have to pacify the people who have waited over an hour to get on the ride as they see dozens of others pass them in the fast pass lane. Working in Toontown and NOCC, it was a challenge to eat during your strict 30 minute lunch as you are a 5 - 10 minute walk to the nearest cast member cafe.
