Concerns Regarding Insensitivity and Treatment of Grieving Employee - Anonymous employee Diversified Employee Review

Back in early April 2023, I suffered an unimaginable loss with the passing of my mother. During this trying time, I took a bereavement leave to mourn and attend to the necessary family matters. Upon my return to work, I was appalled to learn that I had been laid off due to what was termed as "restructuring" within the company. The timing and nature of this decision have left me deeply troubled. As a company that prides itself on “At Diversified, we’re more than a team. We’re a family.”, it is disheartening to witness such a lack of compassion and understanding towards an individual grappling with profound grief. The treatment meted out to me sends a distressing, conveying that our well-being and personal struggles are secondary to the company's business interests.
