Pros
The colleagues that you work with. If you work in a good office you can end up making some lasting relationships. Some of the Senior Managers are great leaders and you can learn a lot from them.
Cons
There is a reason that there is VERY HIGH TURNOVER. Most recruiters don't stay more than a year. -The first issue is LOW PAY. The starting wage for a college graduate is impossible to live off, especially when you compare salary and commission plans with other agencies. -Unreliable sales team: Spend the money to hire people with experience instead of relying on personality tests that don't make an actual impact on your employee retention rate. Otherwise you need to find better ways to train your sales team so they bring in clients that want a respectful partnership. - Also, please train your employees on professionalism. The review that stated "Corporate culture is shockingly sexist for a 'woman-owned business" was an accurate depiction of my time at Doherty. Comments that I heard from the female senior leaders at work or work related events about other employees, and the frequency that the instances happened, were a major component of me leaving this company. The worst part about it coming from senior leadership is that it sets examples for your subordinates and effects the culture of your company. "That's just sales culture" is not a valid excuse, especially at an HR company. -Advice for people interviewing: Ask why the role is open and how many people have left in the last year.
