Pros

The customer interaction, at least with the majority, is nice.

Cons

How can a company truly justify cramming half a million dollars worth of merchandise into a building less than 10,000 Sq. FT. In size and continue sending more and more every week without having issues with where to put all of it. Send what's needed for the store, not what the warehouse has an over abundance of. Update systems to control freight flow through POS and rate of sale. Work/life balance is completely non-existent working for DG. I currently operate my store with myself, an ASM, and 1 full-time LSA because we can't get applicants or they can't pass the background check for hiring especially in smaller communities. Trucks show up whenever they like so scheduling deliveries is a waste of time. You're expected to drop everything and get that truck taken care of regardless of what's happening in your building. We talk alot about shrink and safety concerns for our associates and customers but continue to overstock stores with merchandise that can't be properly displayed in the spaces provided.

Pros

None. This is the worst company I've ever worked for. The pay is not commeasurate with the amount of work that you were expected to do. Dollar General runs their stores on skeleton crews and each person is expected to do the work of 3 to four people.

Cons

Everything. From dealing with incredibly rude customers, to the pay, to the workload and everything in between. Again, this is the worst company that I have ever worked for and I've definitely had my fair share of jobs in my lifetime.
