Pros
I do not believe there is a reason to work at Dominion.
Cons
You will come across some great people at Dominion maybe some that will become life long friends, I myself have a few. The atomsphere was a good place to work, but budget cut backs forced some changes that most did not agree with, but with changes comes progress. I myself worked for them about 1.5 years but was part of a downsizing in the work force. As part of the Comapany being put up for sale which it is no longer being marketed some tough choices had to be made by upper level management 1. Payroll to HIGH!!!!!! (maybe should have trimmed some fat from the 19th floor vise people that make the company go.. The funny thing about being told by an outside firm that cuts needed to be made the firm that was doing the telling went out of business shortly after giving that advise. So maybe Dominion should have stated in house with those decisions. While the company was up for sale they spend money like no tomorrow which I understand the dog and pony show for any incoming buyers, put your best foot forward, well I for one worked my rearend off putting the trade show up for those prospective buyers only to learn a week later I was no longer needed. I understand business after all I am no kid (50) The bad thing about that decision to make the cut was it was done on the last day of the month so all benefits ended that day even thought the pay periord ran until the next day which was Friday they paided me for that day as well as the next two weeks but dropped all benefits on Thursday. I was of course offered Cobra coverage for myself and my family and the rate of 1400.00 per month. I was offered a great severance package the only downside to it was a lump sum payment and was hit with a 43.5% tax bill, so you could see why Cobra was not an option. Again there are Great people in place the the big white building just not so sure there opinions are valued enough. Just be very weary of any employment offering from this company.
