Pros

I think the best reason to work at Dominion Enterprises is mainly, a pay cheque and friends who you aquire there. I've met some nice, talented, bright indiviuals who are pretty cool.

Cons

- HR tends to remind employees on silly dress policies (they actually MEASURE certain sizes of footwear) and it feels like I'm in high school again, with their petty policies. HR needs to update their policies, to match larger companies' relaxed atmosphere policies. Besides the dress code policy, there are several policies which make no sense and petty. However, that's just a small portion of it. The Benefits aren't very good. In fact, I decided to decline from benefits because I found it useless. Investigate benefits before you get hired. - Management tends to micro-manage... ALOT. Micro management ended in the early 2000's because it is a failed schema. It seems that management needs to focus on the solution, rather focus on the problem. TYpically in meetings Ive attended I keep hearing the same "We want to.." instead of "We have...". Management also has promised compensation on various things like over-time but complain about budget. Before my departure, quite a few employees in my department left for better opportunities, due to no incentives from management. Again: "We want to..." or "We need..." instead of "We have implemented..." or "We have.." - Communication. communication is poor, and it seems that policies and implmentation changes each week. Especially after a high turnover. Things change all the time, but without proper notification. In addition, alot of departments tend to seperate themselves from others. They should communicate, learn from each other, and share a pooled resource. - Pay. Very low scale. At times, over worked employees (due to staff shortages) who end up with no motivation; except the fire under their butts, with pink slips hanging above, them by threatening or promising managers. I do not understand a company that uses free software (to save a dollar in my department) and use that money to compensate employees. -Education - Literally learn it all yourself! When I first started I was never given proper documentation on my departments practice or implmentations. I was simply told: "Take a look at our Wiki!". Looking at their 'wiki'; it was never updated, so I went on old resources. Documentation was horrible. - No flex hours. This meant: report and departure in at a certain time , with a FORCED hour lunch. Again, this isnt really nice. I cannot see WEst coast individuals not liking this idea when they start at DE.
