Pros
Full-time hours Access to some benefits
Cons
Demanding and confining work schedule that includes mandatory changes from day shift to overnight bi-weekly. Inadequate pay. 0% matching on 401k which defeats the purpose of having one through your work. Very little opportunity for advancement. Pressure to perform duties of higher paying positions without the title or accompanying pay An extremely strict attendance policy with no consideration for family or personal emergency, or for the increased demand the company may impose on you to cover a department shortage. Failure to observe proper procedure in response to on the job injury and/or machine fire Working in temperatures upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit during spring and summer months Required to handle harsh and carcinogenic chemicals without all the proper personal protective equipment limited first aid material available despite hazardous work environment required to mop floor and clean surfaces with highly flammable ink thinner(IPA,NPA), despite regulations against it. Raises are modest if u receive one at all. I was terminated for having 5 attendance points while fully aware that there were other employees who had just as many or more and we're not facing the same disciplinary action.
