Pros

More jobs and more competition to pulp and paper industry in Canada Great place to learn to work hard and be frugal Opportunity to become a great company with the right components Opportunity to meet people from outside Canada

Cons

Majority of employees are from Asia, with no corporate experience in North America Unable/struggle to adapt to Western culture. It will take a long time apparently English communication is a very big issue/problem Working environment is unhealthy and working relationship becomes rather dysfunctional Need to assess each with competency instead of title or position Most Employees are stressed Almost everything is subjective and based on feeling Reactive; execute first and then think No employee appreciation

Pros

Close knit excellent maintenance teams that seem to do the impossible with the amount of understaffing over the years. Couldn't ask for a better place or people to work with. I have loved my time at this mill. Domtar has no idea at the quality of the institution\people that they are casting off into the abyss.

Cons

The corporation as a whole I am not a fan of. It seems they acquired Resolute FP to strategically dismantle it. They have closed several of the RFP mills and Coosa Pines an absolute institution that has been the backbone of the community for over 75 years is the next on the chopping block in May 2026.
