Where do I start? On-demand delivery is not a hot space to be in anymore. Margins are low and you need to be a market leader to generate any decent profit. Company took a downround in the last round of fundraising.
No one here actually cares about the vision of the company, including the founders (despite their pitch to employees). People left their cushy corporate jobs expecting to make bank here...a mistake in hindsight because the options are worthless today. If there was a liquidity event, investors get paid out first and there is little left for employees.
They oversell the positions during the hiring process. Roles are not as good as promised.
Recently there has been a lot of restructuring in the company. Quite a few early employees left. Culture has become toxic with plenty of finger pointing and politics. People will throw you under the bus to look good. If someone has an issue with you, they'll talk crap behind your back. CEO only listens to the people in his inner circle. "Senior leaders" have a lot of ego and will complain about you to your manager if you disagree with them (quotations used because most of the "senior" team aren't that senior in experience).
If you want to work at a place where you are under paid, over worked, constantly need to watch your back, play politics, and come out financially worse than at a 9 to 5 job, then DoorDash is the place for you.
