This company takes advantage of every legal loophole possible, while not giving a crap about its Dashers - Independent Contractor/Driver DoorDash Employee Review

Pros

The pros are all the pros one could imagine with a job in which you can pick your own hours, how many hours you work per week, and where or what areas you work in.

Cons

Cons are pretty hefty.... like the fact that this company plays some kind of games with the Dashers' tips, despite the fact that they claim the Dashers get 100% of their tips. Lies. Also, the only reason Dashers are independent contractors is so the Doordash doesn't have to offer any sort of benefits... which is what you get in term of benefits.... nothing. There very little opportunity for upward mobility, either, with that structure.

Pros

If you are considering working with this platform, be aware that the management model is built on deliberate ambiguity. The app and software are designed to keep you in a constant state of uncertainty regarding your performance metrics. There is no transparency regarding how jobs are assigned or how your work is actually evaluated. This appears to be a calculated strategy to keep workers chasing 'better status' without ever providing a clear path to achieve it. You will never know if you are truly meeting expectations because the system is intentionally opaque. Approach with caution if you value transparency and clear communication.

Cons

The supposed 'flexibility' of this role is actually a double-edged sword. While the platform advertises freedom, it functions as a lack of structure and support. Because the performance metrics are intentionally opaque, the 'independence' of the job feels more like isolation. You are left guessing if your efforts are actually valued or just another input in an algorithm that doesn't prioritize worker success.
