Pretty darn good - OTR Driver Dot Foods, Inc. Employee Review

Pros

They have smooth-riding trucks, the shop takes good care of the equipment, the OTR destinations are usually within a shouting-distance of main highways, they don't call you all the time while you're driving, the benefits are good, the pay is good, the dispatch is friendly, and the community of Mt Sterling is largely supported by Dot Foods, so there's a built-in incentive for both the town and the company to keep each other happy. This is evident in how the drivers are treated.

Cons

There is far too much paperwork. Currently (2018), they seem to be moving toward a more electronic system, but as a growing company there's always something new to learn. The due-out times are also a pain. Oftentimes I'll get a due-out time at midnight, and I'll get less than 12 hours of notification, so sleep schedule switching and timing is a problem. I've talked with management about it, and they are currently trying to address this issue. [that's another good thing about the company-you can talk with management, and they listen, but this is the 'cons' side, so back to the negativity! lol] Another possible downside to the company is a result of the fast growth and expansion. They are opening several DC's in new areas around the country, and with that comes new drivers, new obstacles, new problems. The sense of community dwindles somewhat when spread out across the country. I haven't had many negative encounters with drivers from other DCs, but they do seem to have different cultural expectations. One DC may be more lax with parking, while another may be more lax with check-in procedure.
