Pros

You learn more about being a better digital marketing professional and professional in general every day. Management does a very good job of identifying skills and areas for growth in employees and working to develop both those areas. New ideas are constantly being tested and new processes are developed to make sure the product is the best it can be for clients. Co-workers work extremely well together and form strong working relationships and friendships. Open concept office is perfect for the amount of collaboration that goes on. Pushes the envelope in the digital/social media marketing world.

Cons

The fast pace of a digital marketing agency isn't for everyone. If you are uncomfortable with dealing with high-pressure situations/having tough conversations with people, this wouldn't be a good environment. Job can definitely be stressful.

Pros

Great team culture with constant peer support, making the role low-stress and collaborative. Hitting goals feels rewarding, especially when it leads to client satisfaction and bonus opportunities. Plus, the flexible work-from-home setup, strong leadership, and overall positive environment make it an enjoyable place to work.

Cons

Heavy workload at times, which can feel fast-paced, but it keeps the day moving and makes the work more engaging. Like many marketing roles, priorities can shift quickly, so staying organized and adaptable is important.

Pros

Local team was awesome and supportive. Only thing that kept me there for longer than 2 weeks.

Cons

Corporate leadership created a culture of constant micromanagement. Employees were regularly called “lazy” during company-wide meetings and singled out in front of everyone. No matter how well you performed or how far above quota you were, there was always another metric to criticize. Work-life balance was practically nonexistent. 60-hour work weeks were not uncommon nor was being expected to work Saturdays. It wasn’t uncommon to receive texts on weekends criticizing activity metrics or demanding more. It felt like you were expected to be available seven days a week. The role was also far more stressful than advertised. Corporate leadership repeatedly described it as a “low-stress sales job,” but the short sales cycle and constant pressure made it anything but. Metrics are set extremely high and even when you do hit them they will ask you why you aren’t doing more. Employee turnover was extremely high, and despite calling itself a marketing agency, the company felt much more like a sales organization where hitting activity metrics and bringing in new clients took priority over everything else. If you don’t mind an extremely high-pressure, micromanaged sales environment, this may be a fit. If you value work-life balance, autonomy, and leadership that trusts high performers, I would look elsewhere.
