Pros
- flexible hours. -50% employment discount. -Everyone is hired/welcome. -only good for hair experience.
Cons
-Pay is horrible. Minimum wage. Hence, why they don’t disclose this information during your hiring process. (W/ tip you make x, y, and z. Blah blah) -No ten min brakes, only lunches after four hours. - if you’re not cool with bartenders or managers you’re screwed. However, you can call them out. Usually created chaos. - management comes and goes frequently. -they cut hours, w/o warning. - they will overwork you. -mandatory cleaning, besides your working station. ( sometimes you will be on your knees prepare for that) - hostile environment. - some team members will take their higher status to their heads. - training is horrible. (They threw me under the bus after two days of training). No pressure you have 30-45 min to wash and style. - good luck finding coverage or else you’re screwed. Managers sometimes will make it a huge deal. - no holidays parties or any type of recognition. -I’ve been there 4 years and they will NOT give me a raise because of unrealistic reasons. (Discrimination) - no more free blowout that was part of our benefits. -to many rules and last minute changes (sign here/ to avoid from getting sued). -in order to get a decent paycheck you have to work o.t. Not everyone tips well. During quarantine DryBar opens and closes during quarantine. Last time they opened they told us their was money to get paid. And then they told us they didn’t have money for us seniors. Cut our hours and hired 16 new employees and told seniority they can no longer work overtime, because they didn’t have funds. This is a multimillion company, who got funded by the government to pay their employees. - employees can’t afford 50% discount with the minimum wage, and act as the location is not expensive to live at.
