Pros

Dupont really does take care of its people. Once in, you're in. But, this same pro can be a major con b/c dead-weight cannot be terminated. There is no accountability in DuPont - you're left to your own devices to build a niche and succeed. This can be a pro, or con, depending on your personality.

Cons

Dupont has the feel of a sinking ship. The workforce is heavily weighted to 55+ agegroup, and the company has made little/no effort to succession plan. Retirement eligible people hang around forever in hopes of a layoff, so they can get "paid" to retire, then many of them end up coming back as contractors or partimers b/c the company never trained replacements. These leaches on the system, like with GM and Ford, have sucked the life out of the compensation and pensions packages, so thirty-somethings like myself will pretty much get nothing.

Pros

Great people, strong commitment to safety, competitive pay and benefits, and excellent work-life balance. The company provides opportunities to work on meaningful projects with talented cross-functional teams, and there is a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Flexible work arrangements and supportive managers (depending on the organization) make it a great place to build a long-term career.

Cons

Frequent organizational changes and restructuring can create uncertainty, and decision-making can be slowed by bureaucracy. Career growth opportunities may be limited in some organizations, and employees can become siloed or feel disconnected depending on the role and team.
