Pros

Big company that looks great on a resume if you're up for a job at a small to mid sized company. The actual mission of the part of the company I worked for definitely makes an impact on our clients' employees by creating products and services designed to keep them alive and safe and that was something I valued being a part of.

Cons

"Felt Leadership" is a term that gets thrown around in a lot of different circles within the Oval. "Respect for People" is another term, pulled directly from the company's 'Core Values' statement. Most of the people I worked with greeted both of those terms with a collective yawn and a roll of the eyes. That's because senior management (or basically anyone based out of Wilmington) couldn't convincingly demonstrate either concept if their job depended on it. They elevate the incompetent and marginalize, if not completely dismiss the employees in the trenches actually dedicated to their jobs. Their condescension toward anyone not based out of Wilmington was evident in the JV vs. Varsity mentality displayed at every level.

Pros

Great people, strong commitment to safety, competitive pay and benefits, and excellent work-life balance. The company provides opportunities to work on meaningful projects with talented cross-functional teams, and there is a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Flexible work arrangements and supportive managers (depending on the organization) make it a great place to build a long-term career.

Cons

Frequent organizational changes and restructuring can create uncertainty, and decision-making can be slowed by bureaucracy. Career growth opportunities may be limited in some organizations, and employees can become siloed or feel disconnected depending on the role and team.
