Pros
Good coworkers in my group. Very helpful and team oriented. Minimal staff does outstanding work meeting tight timelines safely.
Cons
Bad employee performance reviews, based on out dated "Forced Distribution" system that they copied from GE under Jack Welch. Couldn't come up with their own adequate system so had to use one they presumably read about in Welch's biography. This system has been dropped by a lot of companies due to it's discriminatory practices of forcing out older workers and several lawsuits were brought that proved it. Also imported Six Sigma from the GE playbook and while a good system for plant sites, it is misused in my research area. Some employees are forced to take it with the assumption of promotion for completing it, while others have not taken it and had no problem being promoted.
