Pros
The co-workers and flexibility, and non-financial benefits are great. The people that stick around are smart and driven (a benefit) but their efforts fall on deaf ears ( a con). The flexible work hours and relaxed word styles are nice, but this is not the case for every department. The standard benefits like 401K and PTO are just OK, not great.
Cons
The leadership, lack of structure, lack of strategy and low pay at E Source are by far the biggest cons. The culture is also very poor. Management says they want innovation but in reality it's put your head down, work, and keep to yourself. There is never time or money to do anything as a team aside from the standard end of year holiday party. E Source does a very poor job of walking their talk, they are the most inefficient energy efficiency company out there. The company seems to be short on cash and there is no opportunity for advancement which means talented employees often come and go quickly. The COO knows nothing about people or operations and thus the company is very disorganized and terribly inefficient. Management claims to be transparent but they have their own agenda and it shows. Employees feel like they are flapping in the breeze because there is no guidance, no structure, and no strategy. E Source is not growing, they are risk averse and just maintaining until the owners can sell and retire. The sales model is broken and inefficient but they are too risk averse to try and fix it. E Source, and it's employees, has the potential to do great things but managements goal is just to sell the company.
