Very Strict Call Center Environment - Customer Service Representative E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley Employee Review

Pros

The pay is great! The benefits are standard.

Cons

It is a struggle to request time off. There is a strict adherence requirement to scheduled lunch and 15 min breaks. If you do not adhere to the schedule exactly you will be penalized even if you need bathroom breaks in between. There was a conversion and a lot of systems stopped working during the conversion over 6 months ago and there are a lot of angry clients complaining and asking why this is not getting fixed. The tools that we once used to assist clients are being removed therefore causing more delays in issue resolution.

Pros

It is a friendly work environment—at least at the Gilbert office. Colleagues are very helpful, and managers are highly supportive of your work. I enjoy working here; there is no office politics. The pay is good, and there are plenty of opportunities to transfer to different roles.

Cons

The new system is nowhere near as good as the old one; I don't know why we were forced to switch. Sometimes, even after you submit a workflow, the new system doesn't even show it. There are plenty of opportunities to transfer to other roles, but applications go completely unanswered. You have to contact HR, yet they barely seem to care. It’s essentially a call center; even though your colleagues are great, you never know if the next customer might ruin your entire day.
