Pros

Got this intern very easily. At the interview they basically don't ask you anything, but require you to do a physical test that is carrying some weight. In my opinion once you get interview you will get this intern. The pay rate is really low even for civil engineering. They give you like $13/hr. However, if you are only doing internships here, this is definitely a good place for you to gather experiences. Here are some reasons. 1. The first couple weeks they require you to pass 2 WACEL certifications. Once you pass those certifications, it will benefit your resume to a large extent. 2. This intern requires to do to on-site inspections work. This would help young civil engineering gathering real experiences. No matter what you will be doing in the future(design, management, construction). This on-site work will give you a lot more than you think.

Cons

1.Low pay 2. Drive Often 3. On-site work might be miserable during summer.

Pros

Fantastic work experience for my resume, and beneficial to improving my technical understanding with hands on field experience, and creating reports and updating GIS in office. Working with a small team also has its perks, because you get more exposure to a wide range of the tasks that go into running the business.

Cons

Pay was modest, and sometimes work was slow. I also didn’t get any hands on design experience, though I would have liked to.
