      Pros

      You don’t have someone hovering over you all of the time. If you use your own vehicle you receive gas mileage pay. The base pay is pretty good (it could be better)

      Cons

      When I first started it was decent. Good hours and was told which house lots or which concrete testing location to be at. Then it got where you had to take multiple pictures add them to your report and email to the supervisor. The office people load everything on you and rarely help in the field. They mainly play ping pong and eat at the office

      Pros

      Fantastic work experience for my resume, and beneficial to improving my technical understanding with hands on field experience, and creating reports and updating GIS in office. Working with a small team also has its perks, because you get more exposure to a wide range of the tasks that go into running the business.

      Cons

      Pay was modest, and sometimes work was slow. I also didn’t get any hands on design experience, though I would have liked to.
