Pros
Health benefits, stable employer and a good place to gain experience.
Cons
Underpaid (largest hospital in the area that brings in millions of dollars, but they do NOT pay lab technicians a fair wage) overworked (ALWAYS short staffed), lazy co-workers, (management knows certain employees net surf, have excessive personal calls and take an extra long lunches and do NOTHING about it. AMAZING!!) . Lastly, in my 20+ career, I have never worked with a more gossipy (smile in your face and talk about you behind your back. no matter how nice and helpful you try to be, group of people.) No significant pay raises based upon solid good work performance.
