Pros

There are some pros like flexible hours, cheap soda from the vending machine, and that's all I can think of at this moment.

Cons

I worked at EDG for several years and just to clarify from the very start, my opinion (actually facts but…) is not based on disgruntled employee syndrome or that I have some sort of agenda against them. I want to give you a first-hand look at the inside of EDG walls. EDG is a good beginner’s program for someone coming out of college, but unless you plan on kissing up to management to get ahead, you have to understand that you’re on a dead-end road. But if your strategy is to brown-nose your way to the top, you have a very, very good chance at getting there and the interesting thing is that you don’t even have any real world experience or to put it bluntly, you don’t really have to know ANYTHING!!! And I’m serious when I say that. One of the problems with this company is that training is basically nonexistent. They’ll tell you they have training programs or will send you to training seminars, etc…, and all you have to do is ask. Well let me tell you, if the training cost money, good luck trying to get it. They will put it off and give you an excuse. The hypocrisy runs rampant at the management level while at the same time professing to be good-hearted, upstanding Christians. I’m sure they believe that about themselves while at the same time using unethical practices and convincing themselves otherwise; example, charging hours to projects when they didn't even do any work just to fill their 40 hour week. It doesn't even dawn on them that what they're doing is actually stealing. I wonder if the Clients are ok with that? I could go on but what’s the use. EDG needs a serious overhaul if they want to prosper in this business. I think the “having all their eggs in one basket” approach is catching up with them (or already has). They need to get rid of the old-school way of thinking and actually come up with some original ideas or at least listen to those who do and actually be proactive about bettering the company, but it just doesn’t ever seem to happen. They give you the impression that they’re working on improving the company, have you fill out these company improvement questionnaires, have someone go around to each office to ask you what you think could help improve the company, but at the end of the day it’s just a lot of talk and things stay exactly as they have been. It’s laughable. You just get to point where you say to yourself, here they go again wasting my time with these questionnaires and you begin to tune them out on the first word at the company meetings while they talk a big game b/c you’ve been hearing the same spiel for years. But as I mentioned earlier, EDG does have flexible hours and cheap soda.

Pros

I know how to get my work done.

Cons

My group leader doesn’t do any teaching or any drawings of any kind. He shows up when wants and leaves when he wants. Everyone knows but no one does anything about it.
