Pros
Small startup company feel. The owners are nice.
Cons
I hired in when the technical direction was to transition from a Microsoft shop to a python shop. The team consisted of developers drawn from Deluxe and Imax representing many years of practical industry experience in digital cinema key distribution systems. The working environment was highly collaborative and the team was eager to explore new technologies. Flex time was great. However, all that changed when several Technicolor employees were hired. In six months, my manager was fired and replaced with the Technical hires, and flex time was curtailed. Six months after the management change, the development was out-sourced to foreign countries, the team laid off, and the technology flipped back from a python to a Microsoft C# shop. UK based company doesn't understand CA labor laws - poor health, vacation, sick leave benefits. Owners didn't understand the technology or team they had.
