Pros

Gain sharing, decent medical benefits, 401k matching, annual appreciation party .

Cons

Nepotism (way too much), HR that isn’t involved, never see or hear much from CEO ( Karen our previous CEO was AMAZING!) Favoritism needed to advice , it’s who your friends with experience & proven work skills mean nothing to get ahead) . Many People in leadership positions that are horrible at their jobs. How they stay in their positions I’ll never know ..pay lower than average for industry. Need to perform 15-20 community service hours on your own time or you’ll get marked down on your annual review. Expected to support political causes and are in charge of selling ( or you can purchase ) 3 PAC tickets for every credit union employee.

Pros

After spending nearly 10 years with ELGA Credit Union—including my final three years working remotely—I’ve come to deeply appreciate what a supportive, progressive, and community-driven workplace it is. I valued the regular check-ins with management, the transparency in communication from leadership, and the outstanding employee benefits the organization provides. Most of all, I always felt that ELGA genuinely cares about its people and the broader community, with a true commitment to helping others thrive. I consistently felt supported in my professional growth, with encouragement and guidance from leaders across the organization.

Cons

I felt the annual compensation review process could use improvement, though the generous 401k match and incentive payouts added tremendous value (benefits I’ve since realized are quite rare).

Pros

Some of the people you will meet are great, Great building features,

Cons

Some leadership is clueless, Cult like, You only succeed if you are friends with upper management. You are required to either volunteer with no pay or pay a certain amount to their foundation.
