Pros

It was an available job in a down economy.

Cons

Management is generally clueless in dealing with what was a growing company but is now heading rapidly in the wrong direction. Claims to be the market leader in spite of providing an inferior product which has numerous bugs and band aids for each client site. The basic philosophy is to do it as cheaply as possible even if it compromises functionality promised to the client. If things go right the company philosophy is that it was due to the wisdom of the upper management and if things go wrong it was do to the blunders of the rank and file. There have been group firings at the beginning of every month in the second quarter and morale is in the toilet.

Pros

Small company with hard working employees who really do want to help the company succeed. Mostly supportive team members and the company does have connections with Federal and State Government customers. Good work life balance and ability to work remotely was a plus. I worked full time from the west coast while the company was based out of East coast.

Cons

Poorly developed products that don't meet customer needs. Big promises with weak delivery and support for customers. Management is clueless and does not take advice of the people who know the product, customers and the work. The company will go all out and blow the budget for marketing and advertising of their products and has no idea what to do after that. It pretends to know what their customer wants, but when reality sets in, customers usually end up disappointed and frustrated with their product support. Management never listens to the sales people and medical consultants and improvement and continues to do business the same as they always have. There is no growth in this company. Nice place to start out, but leave the first opportunity you get.
