Pros

I've experienced a high degree of autonomy and independence with EPAM. I only really interact with my EPAM manager at annual review or for monthly check-ins which typically don't have any important content. I am integrated fully with my client, on-site, and operate as a member of their team with little differentiation from client employees. The company does have really good self-development opportunities through credentialed courses and self-paced learning modules.

Cons

Not a lot of obvious growth potential. You're a contracted engineer. There are standard cost-of-living and performance increases and there is an internal promotion track but realistically your growth is capped by client interest in you for higher roles. Constant policy-renewal courses are a pain in the butt, but are to be expected.

Pros

You get exposure to the very latest technology, and the company is implementing it in impactful, real-world ways. Even if you're not in a tech role, you naturally build deeper understanding in the latest technologies that you may never get exposure to at other companies. Truly global. Even for employees not in global roles, you still get good visibility into the company's global scale and impact.

Cons

Too much process around approvals which reduces speed of execution. Asked to step-up but then insufficient support provided. Two-faced behaviors of managers has become acceptable.
