Overworked, Underpaid, can't afford an apartment - Land Survey Technician ESP Associates Employee Review

Pros

6% retirement match, equipment reimbursement, decent insurance (I guess?), Will help with related education costs

Cons

I don't make enough to afford an apartment/utilities without spending 60% of my income. Physically demanding work but apparently that doesn't mean I should make enough to live. Inexperienced workers are promoted so they can be paid less, while having absolutely nowhere near the experience any other company would require to be a survey crew chief. Example: a kid who never surveyed before is a crew chief after six months, but yet does nothing but drive his work truck to help another crew chief, because he literally doesn't know how to do the work or use the equipment.

Pros

Great Opportunity to learn. Nice office.

Cons

A lot of finger pointing without understanding the full picture. Company has gotten away from investing back into the company, like new equipment upgrade computers, etc. It is more about keeping private equity ownership happy than it is about keeping the employees happy. You could have 200+ hours of PTO and when you leave, you see none of it back. You invest in the company and get none of that investment back.
