Pros

The clothes are cute and you get a 30% discount. You work with some nice women.

Cons

Despite what management says, the schedule is not mom-friendly. You will eventually be pressured and have to work evenings and weekends with occasional day shifts. You will never have a schedule you can rely on other than that you will be working the worst hours possible. Management treats you like a child and berates you, but never lets you know when you are doing something good. They do not reward effort or diligence. They hold random contests for an obscure goal that does not reflect nor benefit the employee who sells a lot or works a lot. Everything is based on the number of units you sell each time you are at the register or how much denim you sell in a certain period of time (even though they run out of denim sizes all the time and you have nothing to sell). One person can have two transactions, sell two items for under a $100 (one being denim), and win a contest because their denim percentage was 50%, and the one who sells $40k a month gets nothing. It’s very demoralizing. The store will exceed its monthly sales quota and management will receive a nice bonus, but the stylists who actually got the store to meet that sales goal get a absolutely nothing. You are expected to wear entirely Evereve clothes and management will make a comment if you don’t. You do not start at $12 like they claim, and the raises are minimal, we’re talking CENTS per hour, even after working several years with Evereve. The company says it encourages those who want to work towards management, but they always hire outside the company and will displace and demote interim managers back to stylist roles with a cut in pay to hire an outsider. You literally cannot get a foothold in this company to make a career outside of working bad hours on your feet for minimal pay, minimal acknowledgement, and a severe hit on your confidence as you certainly aren’t doing anything correctly. Your every move is questioned Ike you’re a preschooler. They want you to adhere to a schedule that has been made a month in advance and if you have any conflict, family emergency, illness, travel or positive life opportunity, etc., you are expected to find your own replacement in the midst of your crisis and questioned whether you really are unable to work. It’s absolutely demeaning.
