Pros

- Great people - Great mission

Cons

I needed to write a review because of how much trauma this place has brought me. With that being said, I stopped working there in 2020 so we are PRAYING for better decision making. FIRST OF ALL, for the love of everything you care about, diversify your staff and leadership. Invest in the development and well being of your employees. I was sold on a dream of diversity and inclusion but it seemed like you only cared about how it appeared externally. You cannot possibly believe 2-3 people are going to cover all the bases of DEIB. It should be engrained in your DNA as an education company that literally sells D&I. As a BIPOC employee, I was miserable, extremely unmotivated, and highly misunderstood. You cannot expect your employees of color to be motivated in a place where they don’t feel safe or heard! I actually had the same numbers as a white guy on my team, but was the only one who would constantly get talked down to. The micro aggressions here were, at this point, comical (we laugh to not cry). Please train your managers on how to handle high-pressure environments without beating on their direct reports. Please train your managers that no two reps are equal and we all learn and perform in different ways. Also the pay was terrible. Didn’t realize until I started applying at other places. I hope they changed that. Only going to stop here because of the hope in my heart that things have turned up.

EVERFI Response

Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. It is important to note that several of your assertions made about our people and organization are simply not factual including our approach to DE&I. This is the first we have heard of the experience you describe and not only is it an outlier -- it is not what EVERFI stands for. We take any reported cases and inquiries about discrimination very seriously and conduct investigations of such. We also have an open door policy for all employees to share concerns with their manager, any EVERFI leader, or Talent to address. EVERFI focuses on bringing our external DE&I work to our own employees to support and empower them to bring their authentic selves to work. Employees across the company participate in our Diversity Champions Committee to enrich our internal DE&I practices. Employees are also able to join Affinity Groups such as Professionals of Colors and Pride. Recognizing there is always room to improve, we have continued to expand our programming and DE&I team to support our company focus. It is our foundational goal to cultivate a workplace of belonging where each employee is able to operate at the top of their license. We continue to prioritize business decisions in order to meet this need. To better support employee mental wellbeing during the last year, we offered multiple all-company days off outside of our regular holidays, increased both coaching and counseling offerings, and created space for employees to successfully transition to remote work with the necessary tools and manager support required. We’re pleased by the growth we’ve made in all these areas and have received ample employee feedback to confirm we’re on the right path, however, if there are specific issues you would like to raise, we again encourage you to reach out to our Talent Department to better understand and address any prior concerns.
