Pros

Intelligent, loyal, and diligent employees. Flexible PTO, depending on your manager. You learn a lot in your time here.

Cons

The leadership team enjoys complimenting each other in company meetings. They all praise themselves instead of addressing pressing business issues and the company culture had employees feeling forced to attend mandatory pep rallies. The CEO constantly preached transparency but then would abruptly make myopic business decisions. The mission latches on to the next social/emotional fad and profits off of real social issues. While in some cases the work is beneficial to society, the ambulance chasing business model was hard to accept. There was also no sense of frugality unless it came to employee pay. In the excessively fancy office that could fit a company 3x the size of EVERFI, the leadership team would host weekly catered events for external folks. While some of this may have contributed to partnerships and such, it seemed deterrent to the overall business success and financial wellbeing. Another example was the annual company event for employees. Leadership had employees packaging meals for the homeless in a rented out, Five Star Hotel, in downtown DC… something just didn’t feel right. -Unattainable revenue goals and constant comp plan changes made it very difficult, even for performing reps, to get close to their original OTEs. Lack of predictable income. -Sentiment that employees should be there for the mission instead of financial wellbeing. -Product quality has declined and certain business segments are neglected due to founders overpromising and prioritizing “big logo” deals that the product team cannot support. -Leaders preach that their employees are the most important thing to them yet they severely under-pay their staff. Additionally, over 100 people were abruptly fired when the pandemic hit last year after the CEO said to the entire company that nobody would be let go… -Shady management of 401k match (did not happen). -Unbelievable deal pressure and exhausting environment. -Turnover. So many good, high-performing employees have left the organization.

We value and appreciate constructive feedback from our employees, however it is important to note that several of your assertions aren't factually accurate and depict an incomplete picture. 2020 handed all companies an environment for difficult business decisions to ensure future viability. We stand behind the fact that in a tough economic market, during a global pandemic, while we did not fund the 401k match for participating employees last year, we were able to provide merit based salary increases and bonuses to eligible employees this year and have reinstated our 401k match this year. In the last six months, it has also been a top priority of our leadership: executives, department leaders and managers to ensure all teams are appropriately staffed. We're doubling down on our investments to grow and we're currently hiring for many critical positions across the business. Like any organization, we continue to focus on areas of improvement. Feedback regarding compensation and benefits has been heard and acted on over the last year and we have taken action to benchmark our compensation to the market and make adjustments accordingly. In addition, our leadership team has heard and acted on feedback regarding management and recognition over the last year. If there are specific issues you would like to raise, we encourage you to reach out to our Talent Department to better understand and address those concerns.
