Growing Pains for the last 12 years - OUTSIDE SALES Eastern Controls Employee Review

Pros

I've been at ECI for over a decade as an outside sales guy. The company I work for now is almost completely different from the company I started working for. When I consider how far we have come and the changes I have seen, it is all down to a very few people at the top of the organization - and one guy in particular - Cliff. They have my sincere respect. What they have brought into reality here at ECI is nothing short of amazing. The line card we have here is incredibly strong - substantially stronger than anyone else out there. I'm not going to tell you things are perfect here. They are not. We have our problems. But, they are growing pains. When a pain is realized, management does what can be done to fix the pain. They are not perfect. But, they are all decent people. And yeah. There's some noise with CRMs, scoreboard watching, and your garden variety unnecessary training / meetings. But, that's everywhere. Yeah. Expectations are high. But, the tools management puts in your hands are absolutely unmatched in our area. If you have the talent, if you have the drive, if you have the brains and if you show up to work you will thrive here. If you come to ECI you are going to work your arse off. But, if you are motivated by winning, you could not come to a better place.

Cons

See above. Growing pains, mostly. Typical work-a-day noise. Nothing that would keep me away.

Pros

Flexible and honest company. Easy to work around your life

Cons

Smaller company that’s trying to grow, so growing pains that are natural are hard to deal with

Pros

Staff is great outside of management. Growing company.

Cons

LThey track your every move with a vehicle expense app called Motus. The CEO has a fragile ego and can be very tempermental. They offer bonuses but set unobtainable goals to achieve them and if you defy the odds and do they then try and find excuses not to pay up. Even if your the number 1 sales guy there you will have to fight to get your bonus. Management is all talk but they really don't care about you. They are constantly shuffling accounts which further prevents you from making money. It's like a ponzy scheme design in favor of the company instead of a mutually beneficial relationship between outside sales personnell and the company. They are out of touch instead of technical sales done honestly management would like to see a very robotic used car sales approach. In addition to all that, they don't pay well. I have an offer from somewhere else for double the salary and will be leaving soon.
