Pros
Some leadership will lead you from behind and guide you through to help you demonstrate your skills and walk you through challenges you may face. Some departments promote work relationships and gatherings outside of the daily business role to build team culture through play, trust, and respect. Pay was good, especially for the area. Opportunities to participate in work events for volunteerism and community involvement/support.
Cons
Some managers micro-manage and aren't as flexible or compassionate. Overtime is often needed/encouraged/celebrated rather than providing more sustainable, balanced, and healthy support like hiring more team members. Management doesn't demonstrate life-work balance through regular work hours per week, regular vacations, and taking time off to rest for mental/physical health needs. Flexibility to work in office events away from desk became less accessible as I was leaving.
