Pros

Decent health care plan but for the size of the company it could be better.

Cons

Training is an absolute joke!! Your title is a "Route Sales Manager" but you are actually a full time service tech expected to sell. The pay vs the hours you put in may get you to minimum wage. No work life balance. Your phone is always on and your constantly getting calls. My 1st weekend on call was the same month I came out of training.I worked 40 hours from Friday morning through Sunday night non stop. The training in St. Paul is 85% sales and 15% service. When you complete training you will be tossed into a territory and expected to fix everything with no issues. You will perform many installs and some are overnight. You will crawl around on filthy kitchen floors and some are cockroach infested. I leave all my work clothing and shoes outside my house in a bin and wash them at the launder mat just in case i may have roach eggs or some chemicals that could easily be brought into my home . If your sick or need to take a vacation, think again. It is impossible to get any time off unless you can get people to cover for you. Even if you get coverage you are still expected to meet all commitments and sales. That being said, if you attempt to take a vacation be prepared to pay dearly for the time off. This job is like living on a plantation away from your family and friends most of the time. I wish I checked Glassdoor reviews before accepting this horrible position at Ecolab.

Pros

The pros are four day work week 10 hour days, with many Fridays volunteer overtime They try to make a friendly environment

Cons

The pay is not as good as the other places around the area – odd for a fortune 200 company Daily quotas on work – some of them are unrealistic Many department supervisors – a.k.a. “coaches “ are pretty good – one or two are not. Typically these are the ones that have been there for 25 years plus. 20 minute break in the morning, 20 minute break for lunch 10 minute break in the afternoon You are truly on your feet for majority of the 10 hour day The corporation tries to make a friendly environment, but very few employees involve themselves in it. Much backstabbing among line workforce, not a healthy environment. Line workforce runs to supervisors constantly about other people when they should be concerned about their own work. Management has their favorites and you could see that by who who they talk to, and who Brown noses them
