Pros

I've been with Ecolab in a sales role for over 5 years. And yes, as of the date of this review.. I STILL work here. All of you reading this need to know that I'm not a disgruntled ex-employee. This is happening NOW. All the greats about the company were prior to December 2020. Just read the recent (last 6 -8 months' worth) reviews from the field employees. Salary plus commission made our work rewarding and goal-oriented. We could be home by 5 pm and have dinner with our families. We were earning more every year by building our territories. It was... a retire-able place in the company if you wanted to stay in those roles.

Cons

This One Institutional wrecked us all. The job was great before then. Pay is hourly plus "incentives" now, and those metrics are incredibly hard to achieve. Our 40 hours turned into an EASY 55-60 every week Just to maintain the customers we have and the same pay we had. We picked up all the ProGuard equipment because Ecolab let most of the employees go. So now we run bigger territories, with more broken equipment, smaller crews, and smaller paychecks. I've been a route sales rep, then a territory rep, and now a senior rep. And I've done it all over the country. I don't even want a KAR or SSDM role anymore. Ecolab put all of them against each other. They now fight for the sale claim, and come to me to beg for the lead. This is an utter disappointment.

Pros

The pros are four day work week 10 hour days, with many Fridays volunteer overtime They try to make a friendly environment

Cons

The pay is not as good as the other places around the area – odd for a fortune 200 company Daily quotas on work – some of them are unrealistic Many department supervisors – a.k.a. “coaches “ are pretty good – one or two are not. Typically these are the ones that have been there for 25 years plus. 20 minute break in the morning, 20 minute break for lunch 10 minute break in the afternoon You are truly on your feet for majority of the 10 hour day The corporation tries to make a friendly environment, but very few employees involve themselves in it. Much backstabbing among line workforce, not a healthy environment. Line workforce runs to supervisors constantly about other people when they should be concerned about their own work. Management has their favorites and you could see that by who who they talk to, and who Brown noses them
