Pros

Edelman is a great place to start your career, get your experience, and get out. If you’re lucky, you will have one or two people on your team who are helpful and supportive.

Cons

There are lots of users here. A lot of the senior staff take advantage of the junior staff. At one point, I ran campaigns by myself while my supervisor did absolutely nothing. She would sit in meetings, say WE were going to do the work, then when we would get off the calls, make me do everything. No one ever says thank you when you complete a task, they just ask for more. I was severely overqualified for my role and no one ever advocated for me to get promoted. I’ve had coworkers who were emotionally abused by execs. This behavior would be reported to HR, but no one would do anything to help. These perpetrators have been here for years and years and believe this behavior is normal. After much turnover on my team, i’m proud to say that I’m finally out. Leaving this place has felt like I left a toxic relationship.

Pros

Edelman gives you real exposure to senior leaders, complex work, and smart people. You can learn a lot quickly, build strong relationships, and get close to how decisions are made. There are also good opportunities to take on meaningful projects if you are proactive and willing to speak up.

Cons

The pace can be a lot, and the work can feel reactive at times. Priorities shift quickly and roles often expand beyond the original scope without always having clear boundaries, title growth, or compensation changes. Career growth is possible, but you often have to advocate for it yourself. Overall, Edelman can be a great place to grow if you are adaptable, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity. It works best when you have strong leaders, clear expectations, and support around workload and growth. That last part is impossible to control, so may the odds be in your favor.
