Edelman Financial Engines Response

First, thank you for your service to Edelman Financial and I am glad you found our people great to work with. At the same time, I am very disturbed and saddened to learn you experienced anyone at Edelman behaving in an intimidating or bullying way. Those behaviors are entirely unacceptable and go against the very values on which the firm was founded. I have zero tolerance for such behavior and have made that expectation clear across our organization. Your note provides another opportunity to reiterate that message. I am committed to fostering a safe and happy work environment in which all of our employees feel valued, empowered and respected, so when I hear feedback like this, I take it very seriously. To that end, I would appreciate the opportunity to learn more about your experience, to apologize on behalf of the firm and to hear your recommendations for improving the situation. I understand you no longer work with us, but if you’d be willing to speak with me about this matter, please contact me at GlassdoorFeedback@ricedelman.com, so I can set up a time for you to talk to myself and our Chief Human Resources Officer. Thank you for bringing your experiences to my attention.

Pros

- Great team from department head down - Collaboration is encouraged - Self-starter culture with good room for side projects - "See something, say something" approach allows questioning methodology without a feeling of personal attacks or "dumb questions" and enables team members to support each other in a safe environment - Work from home

Cons

- Executive leadership does not know what they want - Consistent turnover in C-Suite leads to departments acting like small internal companies rather than part of a larger system - Limited permission access for team members means that any absence or time-off can lead to a backlog of deployments
