Pros

The staff and management with whom I worked at Edelman were generally great people. Overall they cared about delivering great customer service to each other and to external clients. The benefits were good. Management was transparent in communicating larger company changes. They have a great HR staff.

Cons

It's been a few years since I worked there but the IT department at that time was not as strong as it should have been on documenting policies and procedures. IT staff didn't leverage the knowledge of the team as much as they could have. Individuals were sometimes expected to do their own research to find solutions even when the issue had previously been resolved by others but not documented so as to save others the time required to re-research an issue that was previously resolved.

Pros

- Great team from department head down - Collaboration is encouraged - Self-starter culture with good room for side projects - "See something, say something" approach allows questioning methodology without a feeling of personal attacks or "dumb questions" and enables team members to support each other in a safe environment - Work from home

Cons

- Executive leadership does not know what they want - Consistent turnover in C-Suite leads to departments acting like small internal companies rather than part of a larger system - Limited permission access for team members means that any absence or time-off can lead to a backlog of deployments
