Pros
Joining the Eden Housing team has been great. Eden Housing offers an amazing work environment, friendly co-workers, and exceptional employee benefits and perks. The Hayward corporate office is in a convenient location within walking distance to BART. The interview process was enjoyable, and my onboarding was very smooth; the Eden team made me feel welcomed from day 1. Furthermore, working at Eden Housing very rewarding: Even in my finance role I am finding that there are many opportunities for employees to get involved and participate in activities that directly support our purpose. Frankly, it feels good to know that my work is contributing to our mission of building affordable housing and helping individuals and families find a safe and decent place to call home.
Cons
None that I have seen so far, overall, it has been great place to work. One piece of personal advice however: If like me you come from a for-profit industry be mentally prepared to adjust your work style and approach a bit, working at a non-profit can be very different from working at a for-profit organization.
