Pros
When you do work worth doing and you're surrounded by talented, passionate, mission driven individuals, it makes hard days palatable. The work we do is meaningful, the majority of the people in the organization are incredible both at their work and as humans. If you want to be connected to our mission, the company gives you every opportunity to do so. The evolution of this organization over the past 8 years has been incredible to witness, we've gone through some really hard things like mergers, leadership changes, cultural changes and ownership changes--that's tough stuff and to look at where we are today vs. where we were, our mission has more clarity, our programs are significantly more educator focused, our decisions are more transparent, and our people are more committed than ever. I get to laugh every day, get to witness passion every day. I am challenged and grow and learn every day. And I get to witness the impact that our programs have on educators and kids every day. That makes my work worth doing.
Cons
Despite my pros above, no company is perfect, we all have growing to do and there is opportunity for that at Edmentum as well. We need stronger employee and leadership development programs to support the dynamic nature of our business and growth so that we can continue to promote from within. We need to continue our path towards transparency. And we need to continue to make some of our internal processes easier to navigate. We have work to do, and it is important that we continue to recognize and own that work.
