This is a great transition from classroom teaching to “corporate” world. Very laid back and the people who are not executives are some of the most brilliant people I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. If you’re willing to learn, everyone here is willing to teach you. So if you want to dabble in another area to see what that team feels like... just ask! Very collaborative place.

Oh gosh, where to start? I always loved how Jamie Candee, the CEO would mention in every meeting how “we have ___% of people in our company with education experience,” yet zero... ZERO of those people are on the executive team. They may have some type of education experience, but walking into a school and seeing your programs being used by students doesn’t count. With the new-er CEO, there has been a complete overhaul of management and there was a re-org of services. This was to be expected since their current way of implementation was lacking to say the least... no structure... no consistency. So, with that being said, the re-org cut about 20 people in services with 5 open positions, thus turning the services teams into The Hunger Games. Since all of management was new, AND THE COMPANY DOESN’T DO PERFORMANCE REVIEWS, people who were hired here in mere weeks made the decisions of who stays and who goes without any real solid reason as to why. There is a theme of “Educator First,” which most people view and use as a joke. For example, when services is told to not reach out to the customer if you’re not the lead on the account... yet the lead consultant is literally onsite for the next 2 weeks in various states. So, I guess this customer just bought X amount of dollars in programs, but won’t be able to get started until next month, even if I’m just sitting here twiddling my thumbs... Educator First! Communication has always been an issue here. No one knows what anyone else is doing. This company is very reactive to events that have already happened that affect everyone in the company. Decisions are made in a vacuum, and everyone else is supposed to roll with the punches.
