Cons
EMS has a strong culture of micromanagement. Do not make the mistake of thinking you are a seasoned coach with lots of experience and use your own discretion. You will be wrong in doing so. Processes are wildly inefficient. In fact, many of them are tediously manual. There has not been enough focus on tech solutions to automation and crm synching and literally zero resources given to process improvement. Compliance is extremely rigid. They use terms like “conversation guide” but there is little room to ad lib. They are also very vague about what is required to say verbatim and what areas of the guide have more flexibility so coaches often learn only after being graded poorly. The conversation guide reads like a lawyer wrote it yet it is still expected that coaches turn that “guide” into a thoughtful, meaningful conversation that is friendly yet overly professional. Be sure to avoid using language like “we”, “us”, and “you” because that’s guaranteeing language. Also be sure to avoid common terms like “crapshoot” because that’s “unprofessional language” that may or may not end up in disciplinary action.
