If you have a family and you have an emergency, expect to be harassed and questioned about why/when/how/where you took a personal or vacation day. On top of it, if they think what you did on your APPROVED VACATION isn't worth the time you took off, they give you attitude about not returning early from vacation to work. Upper management have their own clicks, so if you are not within their circle, you might as well just walk out. IT department is behind the time in applying new technology, they give you a Ferrari and tell you not to make left turns!
