Pros
The training is online and you must have it completed with in the first year. You can use a mentor who is another Administrator. You also can have extensive back office to utilize for questions. Head to toe benefits but huge deductibles on your Health insurance. If you are a family person then you can usually have time to take care of family matters.
Cons
Since you are a two person branch, the job is lonely. If you don't get a perfect personality match with a financial adviser then the job can be like a bad marriage. Broker's tend not to work and unless you have very clear boundaries and if you are a yes person then you can be inundated with marketing, customer service. They do not like you to spend time helping small clients, however that is your job. The adviser's complete your evaluation and have never done your job. The company is very political. Some advisers are abusive and makes for a hostile work environment. If you are good a making excuses for your employer then it is the place to work. The advisers expect the administrator to walk on water. No career opportunities. Compensation is not commensurate with your job responsibilities. The job title should be Branch Operations Manager and a pay change. If your adviser doesn't communicate what they want to see then they can be mad at you and you will not know until it is time for a raise.
