Pros

Awesome sales training....I will take these skills into the next area of my life. Average starting off salary after graduating with a degree in financial planning (~$34,000). They have a good support network of advisors & mentors who aim to keep you on the right track with your sales goals. In general, a very positive work environment but the nature of the business is that they are not "team-oriented"...because there is no team. Only you as the salesman.

Cons

Only cares about asset gather & they do not practice "true" financial planning. Massive conflicts of interest, the end goal is to gather their assets. The software Jones uses is dated and frustrating. There is no match on a 401(k) but health benefits are alright. Working for Jones over several years felt more stressful because you had to drink the "kool-aid". High sales quota & if you did not produce you would be let go. Door knocking in 2017 does not work like it did back in the day.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
