Pros

Good reputation in the industry.

Cons

You only get one chance to pass the Series 7. At that time, you were one of a huge mass of new hires for the trainee position - approximately 50 across the USA. Your job is to study for the Series 7 and they send boxes of binders to study. If you pass the exam, then you keep your job and move forward to the goal of becoming a financial adviser. This was a tough crash course, requiring many chapters, quizzes and tests due every day with little help from their staff to answer questions and explain concepts. We were barely earning minimum wage during this time, so be sure you have enough savings to support yourself during this time. This is about 6-8 weeks - after the first week, about half had already quit, and by exam time, only about 10 of us out of 50 were still standing. If you don't pass, they call you within a few days to let you know you are being fired - I didn't pass and got the call.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
