Pros

The people. It’s clique but there are a lot of smart people at EA. They teach you and support you. You’re gonna learn a lot in public accounting but especially here because you’ll have smaller engagements than a Big 4 so you get to see the whole client service experience.

Cons

You learn by trial and error. Emphasis on error. It takes time and you really have to be committed to learn. It’s a hard job with many different eyes on you. Also, you could be working for 5 or more different managers when you first start. That number goes down the longer you work. Oh and tax season sucks.

Pros

The firm has a welcoming and positive culture. As an intern, you are given excellent hands on training and real world experience. Colleagues and management are highly supportive, always willing to answer questions, and genuinely want to see you succeed and learn.

Cons

I do not have anything significantly negative to report. The environment is fast paced and there is a steep learning curve when you first start, but that is completely expected and standard for an internship in this field.

Pros

I've been with the firm for 6 years, starting at the associate level, and some of the most foundational moments of my career have happened here. The culture is genuinely a go-getter one — from staff to partner, people show up with real guidance, not gatekeeping. As a Black woman now in a management role here, I can speak to this directly: performance is what gets rewarded, full stop. I've asked for what I felt I'd earned and gotten it. Leadership has shown up for me in ways that go beyond the job — present for milestone moments in my life, invested in me as a person, not just a line on a chart. If you're willing to put in the work, this firm will invest right back.

Cons

Tax season hours can run long — that's pretty typical for this industry, but it's worth knowing what you're walking into. The pace and accountability here push you to grow fast— if you're looking for something more hands-off, this might not be the right fit.
