Pros
Compensation and benefits are great. Well established procedures and programs create a good environment to learn the industry. Technical knowledge is abundant. The company is generally strong and due to a fairly large size has a lot of different business units working in a lot of different parts of the country. Cross train opportunities are a newly established program and are great for those who participate.
Cons
ECI is in the process of changing the culture from a more traditional employee / employer relationship to one that is more progressive and flexible, however this is a work in progress. Some attitudes are still very entrenched in old patterns and habits. The well established programs are successful business wise but result in stagnation and pigeonholed employees (usually because they’re so good at their job). Once this takes place it requires a significant amount of personal work or drastic measures to break out of the mold. Workloads and schedule frequently are a bit unrealistic at times. Late nights and long hours tend to pop up almost monthly. Often so much focus is put on project work that an employee desires, company improvements, and professional development isn’t discussed or accommodated.
